Firecom and Pavion: A Multi-Phase Brooklyn Construction Partnership
Some of the most meaningful work we do at Reem Construction happens not on a single landmark project, but over years of sustained partnership with clients who trust us to deliver across every phase of their facility's evolution. Our relationship with Firecom — and later Pavion — is exactly that kind of partnership. Beginning in 2007 and continuing to the present day, we have completed four major construction phases and numerous smaller projects at the same Brooklyn facility, applying masonry, concrete, interior reconstruction, and exterior site work as the client's needs have grown and changed.
The first major engagement came in 2007 with a full façade transformation. The original building exterior was severely deteriorated — old windows, damaged brickwork, and failing exterior materials needed to be fully removed before we could begin rebuilding. Our team installed 16,000 hand-laid bricks across the new façade, each one aligned, leveled, and tied back for long-term structural stability. We added limestone detailing along the roofline and constructed a brand-new parapet wall with a smooth stucco finish. More than 15 years later, that masonry work remains solid, clean, and structurally sound.
In 2010, we returned for one of our largest concrete projects to date: a 41,000 square foot parking lot. The job required full sub-base preparation, high-grade rebar installation throughout the entire slab, and 4,000 PSI concrete designed to withstand heavy traffic, weather conditions, and structural stress. In 2012, a 90-day fast-track project followed — rebuilding the on-site coffee shop and adjacent shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading areas from the ground up, including a new ceiling system, updated service counter, and custom fabricated benches for the shipping department.
A decade after the concrete parking lot, Firecom called on us again. In 2022, we completed full reconstruction of the sidewalks and driveway spanning between 59th Street and 60th Street — demolishing and rebuilding all surfaces, installing a new metal curb system, and pouring 5,000 PSI high-strength concrete to handle daily commercial truck loads. The entire project was completed in 30 days. That same year, Firecom was acquired by Pavion — and Pavion retained Reem Construction for ongoing facility improvements including roof repairs, drywall work, and new office construction.
The Firecom and Pavion relationship illustrates something we believe strongly at Reem Construction: the best contractor relationships are built on repeated, consistent delivery. When a client trusts you with their first major project and you deliver, the relationship grows. When you come back five years later and deliver again — and again five years after that — you become more than a contractor. You become a true facility partner. We are proud of every phase of work we have completed for Firecom and Pavion, and we look forward to continuing that partnership.
